HIGHER EDUCATION & FACULTY DEVELOPMENT

Teaching Technology. Transforming Instruction.

Higher education was where I learned that learning isn't about content, it's about systems. Over nine years across two institutions and three continents, I partnered with faculty across every discipline to integrate technology into instruction, modernize pedagogy, and expand access. The projects below reflect a consistent practice: designing learning experiences that respect both the discipline and the learner.

The "Lookbook" Project

When NYU's College of Arts & Sciences migrated from Sakai to Brightspace, I inverted the traditional training model. Faculty browsed exemplar course designs like a retail lookbook — low pressure, high curation, aspirational. The result: 2,500+ courses created in one semester.

The Clicker Mission

Classroom engagement in large-enrollment courses required more than effort, it required a system. I partnered with UWI faculty to integrate clicker technology grounded in active learning research, co-authored the instructional eBook, and contributed to published research on formative assessment.

Wakelet Resource Collection

Faculty development often fails because it treats tools as isolated skills. This project modeled, through its own design, the networked learning it asked faculty to embrace. Based on Siemens' Connectivism

Anthropology Lab Conversion

When the pandemic eliminated in-person labs overnight, NYU's anthropology faculty faced a real problem: their labs weren't lectures. Students measured, touched, and collaborated in ways no slide deck could replicate. Using the Expert Blind Spot Model and scaffolded learning, I designed a three-phase structure that preserved the experiential heart of the discipline.
